‍For over three decades our team has advised some of the larges corporations in the world in the protection of their trademarks, tradenames and slogans in Guatemala. We are used to efficiently managing very large trademark portfolios. Our team has ample experience in the preparation, filing and prosecution of trademark applications, renewals, and assignments, as well as the recordal of changes of address and license agreements. We are very familiar with established Guatemalan trademark practice and the criteria applied by the examiners at the Guatemalan Patents and Trademarks Office, which allows us to advise our clients in the most effective strategies to properly protect their trademarks in Guatemala. Our team has advised clients in the protection of non-traditional trademarks such as three dimensional, sound and motion trademark registrations. We also advise clients in the negotiation and drafting of trademark coexistence agreements, letters of consent, license agreements and assignments.

Prosecution
We are well known for our expertise in the preparation, filing and defense of trademark oppositions and administrative appeals. Our team also has ample experience prosecuting trademark cases before the Court of Administrative claims and the Guatemalan Supreme Court. We have advised clients in some of the most important landmark trademark cases in Guatemala, often establishing precedent and settling the law on innovative trademark issues.                  

We have both filed, and defended numerous non-use trademark cancellation and annulment actions on behalf of our clients.
